We’ve all been there. You find a brilliant new AI tool, you go to connect it to your workflow, and then you hit the permission screen.

“This app wants to read, write, and send emails on your behalf.”

Your cursor hovers over the "Approve" button. The internal monologue kicks in: Am I handing over the keys to the kingdom?

Historically, app integrations have been an "all-or-nothing" binary. You either grant sweeping access, or you can’t use the product. But in the Agentic Era, where AI systems act autonomously, that old paradigm is breaking down.

Handing over unbridled access doesn't just create user anxiety; it creates massive enterprise liability.

When autonomous agents operate with over-permissioned access, a single hallucination can turn into a data breach or an unauthorized action.
